Title: "Leap" in group public art show "illuminations."

Materials: Quicktime sequences projected onto the multi-story interior wall of the University of Massachusetts student center. Rhode Island Philharmonic played underneath the projections of this group digital video show, "Illuminations."

Notes: Illuminations was curated by Jonathan Colon as part of the University of Massachusetts Arts Month festival. To make, "Leap," I spent several classes photographing and talking with dancers. I felt they were a hidden art group at Umass and I wanted to create a piece that would publicly honor their work. I designed a series of posters with images of the dancers and quotes that they contributed by well-known dancers. I animated the words in Flash and joined them into one Quicktime movie that played in the "Illuminations" public multi-media exhibition.
